Privacy Beyond HIPPA

From the inception of the DocPatient Network project, security and privacy were of the utmost concern. One of the first advisors recruited, was an attorney who specialized in HIPAA law as it applies to healthcare software. This attorney remains an advisor to this day as do several other legal advisors in areas such as Medicolegal and healthcare corporate law.

We recognize that HIPAA law actually does little to guarantee privacy. For this reason, we have strived to achieve a level of privacy that goes far beyond HIPAA. We strongly recommend that you read our subscription agreements.

Ownership

Another critical issue is that of who owns medical data inputted into the system. The following is a quote from the ownership section of our subscription agreement: “Any data that you enter into the DocPatient Network system as part of the Service is owned by you. DocPatient Network has no right to sell any of your data in any manner or form.”
