Welcome to Doctations.com, the Web site EMR system for physicians and healthcare professionals who are members of the DocPatient Network. If you are tired of the frustrations of missed phone calls, insufficient data at the time of the doctor-patient encounter, delayed lab results, awkward documentation technology, and other communication problems that impede patient care, you will be pleased with how Doctations can serve your needs.
As a patient, you know that your doctors are being asked to do more in less time than ever before and that this is not as doctors would have it. People become doctors to help those who are ill get well. However, as healthcare has grown more complex and less personal over the past decade or so, it’s increasingly easy to lose sight of this fact. Doctors have not. They are exceptionally frustrated that so many obstacles interfere with this central mission. The DocPatient Network was developed by doctors and patients who want to make things better and see a web based EMR as an effective tool for doing so.
The DocPatient Network aims to restore the personal relationship between doctors and patients that was common in simpler times, while expanding and liberating consumer access to healthcare by using the Internet to connect doctors and patients through secure electronic communications, both written and video. The DocPatient Network is dedicated to patients who want to use the Internet to securely share a single, complete set of information, or electronic patient medical record with their doctors, to be able to keep their own copy of their doctors reports online, to send email or video/audio message to their doctors with questions or problems, or to schedule or change appointments. All of this is enabled by the iMedicalHome.com PHR, your portal to the DocPatient Network.
The Basic subscription tier for patients gives users the ability to record their medical information online and to invite their doctors to become Doctations members for free. This way ALL providers can access and update the same set of electronic patient medical records when authorized by the patient. This free membership tier allows patients to securely receive an unlimited number of messages from their doctors and the doctors’ staff. These messages can contain attachments (e.g., consultation reports) that can be viewed and printed. In addition, this free membership gives you the ability to connect any Emergency Room doctor to your online medical record at times of need, even if you are unconscious. You receive an Emergency Room Access Card which enables ER personnel to access your patient medical record.
The Single subscription tier provides all of the above, as well as the ability to save medical reports online in the patient’s private, secure, “clinical filing cabinet” (aka, Patient Health Record, or PHR). The user may send messages to the doctor’s staff if the staff is using the DocPatient messaging system. Each subscriber gets 5 free fax pages per month, a total of 60 fax pages in or out per year. After that, faxes are $.10 per page (for example, you can fax documents such as your Living Will into the “clinical filing cabinet” to avoid carrying papers from doctor to doctor). The member also receives invitations for their doctors, family and friends to invite them to join the DocPatient Network and help improve healthcare for everyone!
The Family membership provides all of the above benefits for up to 6 (six) family members. Additional family members are charged $9.99 per year. Users get 8 free fax pages per month, a total of 100 fax pages in or out per year, after that faxes are $.09 per page.
The Extended Family membership provides all of the above benefits for up to 25 (twenty-five) family members.
Cancellation Policy: A user may cancel at any time without incurring a penalty.

The shared patient database. is comprised of a specific set of data that almost every physician, regardless of specialty, must acquire, analyze and record when caring for patient (e.g., allergies, medications, social history, medical history, surgical history, vaccination history, review of systems, hospitalizations, etc.). This represents a substantial portion of the medical record and, in fact, constitutes more than 50% of the content of a new patient report and more than 33% of the content of a follow-up report on average. In addition to recording this data in a report, Doctations also stores this data in a separate database meant to be shared among providers, regardless of geography and healthcare organization. This is done only with explicit patient permission.
The SPDB includes data like medication allergies, social history, past medical history, surgical history, hospitalizations, medications, vaccination history, review of systems, etc.
Shared patient data has massive benefits to both physicians and patients. Patients get served faster and more efficiently. One of the most attractive features of SPDB data is that it eliminates the need for patients to fill out their demographic information for every new provider they visit. And one of the most important features of SPDB data is that important medical paperwork like medical history, vaccinations, etc. are never lost or stolen, ensuring better care and reduced risk of medical accident. If you're concerned about the security risks of sharing your medical information with different providers, read on to the next section.

iMedical Home messages differ from regular e-mail in that they are securely and confidentially transmitted and structured to the specific needs of patient-doctor communication. Also, unlike e-mail, which relies on multiple file servers distributed throughout the Internet, iMedical Home uses a centrally managed, secure database which ensures that messages cannot be intercepted.
As an iMedical Home user, you will not be given an e-mail address. You can access the secure iMedical Home service by logging on to the specific patient site, www.iMedicalHome.com and signing in to your password-protected iMedical Home account. When a message is delivered to you from your doctor, you will see that you have a message waiting for you in your inbox. You will receive a regular email stating that you have received a secure message in iMedical Home with a link to login to review the message.
DocPatient Network will provide you and your doctors with the ability to add electronic patient medical records from providers and organizations not using DocPatient Network software. DocPatient Network will provide you with the ability to invite doctors participating in your care to join the DocPatient Network at no charge in order to receive documents and messages from other doctors. You can add names and identifying information for doctors and other providers who do not employ DocPatient Network software.
You can use iMedical Home to communicate with only physicians who agree to use the system.
Once you have successfully registered with DocPatient Network, and your doctor agrees to communicate with you using the service, it is very easy to use structured functions that allow you to send an audio/video or text message to your doctor, request a prescription refill, request appointments, receive lab or test results, etc., with just a click on the desired application.
Only you, your doctor, and those who you authorize can see the messages you send using iMedical Home.
Your doctor will update your medical record after each visit. As an iMedical Home user, it is not required that you complete your health record or PHR; however, keeping accurate records of your health habits, medications, allergies, and medical conditions provides useful information for your doctor.
If you are having trouble using the iMedical Home system, call 1-877-Doc-Patient, and there will be someone to assist you.
